Melissa's Good timin' JACKPOTS
My new end of year all around MGTJ that just came to me with a flow while watching the Preakness this evening.
In Summary, My Master's degree thesis was on the business aspects of Thoroughbred racing and why we need to keep it alive and my PhD dissertation was on the business aspects of barrel racing - "Women Athletes and Entrepreneurs, A comparative study between women barrel racers and women business entrepreneurs". I began the WAE sidepot series (World Athlete Entrepreneur series) which pertains to my PhD dissertation. I got thinking how can I link everything with both studies and It hit me and the ideas flowed right along. Yes, I am doing what my education pertains to.
This new idea pertains to the Melissa's Good Timin Jackpots only - please look at the above overall flyer and get the dates.
January - May is the MGJT Buckle Series - Starting next year it will be the MGTJ Derby Buckle Series. I already have the buckles that will be awarded so these buckles will not state the derby part that I will award tomorrow, Sunday, May 18.
June - July is the MGTJ Summer Series (bronc halters are awarded for this series), It will be changed to MGTJ Preakness Summer Series.
August - December is the MGTJ Buckle Series and will be changed to MGTJ Belmont Buckle Series.
Now, for each series, the top 4 finalists at the end of each series (members for the particular series) in each division, will go in the MGTJ Triple Crown Series Standings - 1st place will get 25 points, 2nd place will get 20 points, 3rd place will get 15 points, and 4th place will get 10 points. Members must have also met the show count for each series. If there is a tie for a particular place, the points for that
The top person in each division at the end of the year, will win the Triple Crown. Because I am starting this late this 2025 year, You must be a member in 2 of the 3 series series to be eligible for the Triple Crown at the end of the year. Starting in 2026, you must be a member for all 3 series: Derby, Preakness, Belmont.
Lets have some fun and do this.
I am going to think about what I want to give as an award. I was thinking of a big trophy type thing like awarded at the track and something else but, I have to see, if can do. Will make it great though. You know me!!!
I will start the Triple Crown Standings after this Buckle series that ends tomorrow.

Dress Code: Jeans, No spagetti straps, halter tops, low cut shirts; keep respectable; boots and jeans required - no tenneshoes, sandals, etc. Please see rules and policies for full detail. Helmets are optional
CASH ONLY ENTRIES AT THE SHOW W/CASH PAYOUT! Can pre enter with prepay.
No alcoholic beverages allowed! If you are caught with alcohol (whether trying to hide in a cup, etc) you will be told to leave. There will be no refund of your entry fee and if you win money, this money is forfeited. This applies even if you have family members with you or friends with you drinking. Please be responsible.
Due to insurance requirements - All dogs must be kept on a leash and exhibitions are one at a time. There is no riding around in the arena while exhibitions are taking place and keep in forward motion. Only allowed to circle barrel no more than 2xs.
If doing a slow exhibition, when come off 3rd barrel, please go to the fence line so next person can start. If fast exhibition, please let the person working the gate know so, he/she can hold the next person back so you can run back. No standing in the corner, unless you are doing the exhibition AT THE TIME.
NO DRAMA is allowed at the events. Please leave them at home, your barn, or at the gate. :) We are here to have some family filled, clean fun.
Please do not take the following personal, it is just me and how I work. When the show begins, only 1 more other person allowed in the announcer's stand with me, unless I call for one more. As you know, I multitask and to stay straight, I cannot think when I have a lot of other stuff going on in the background around me. I want a smooth, flowing show and that is what I aim for each month. This is a personal goal of mine. :)

June 21, 2025 - ONLINE ENTRY FORM - Requirement: Must have 30 PAID pre entries by Thursday, June 19th at 8 pm for show to be a go. Please not the times as they are different than normal.

Some Summer Series Rules
1. The membership fee is $25 (instead of the regular $35)
2. Rope Bronc halters will be awarded to Open Division 1st place winners
3. Member must run in, at least, 3 shows to keep points in the Summer series standings.
4. There must be, at least, 30 PAID PRE ENTRIES for each show to be a go. Change on prepaying entry fees. Must be paid by 11 am Friday, June 20, 2025. HOWEVER, I am getting overloaded with fees. I have to pay a fee to instantly transfer the funds to my account. If pay on the Thursday or Friday, you will be charged a fee to compensate for the fee I am charged for instantly transferring. For no fee, they must be paid by Wednesday June 18th, 4 pm.
5. If a show does get cancelled, the required show count will remain (3 show requirement), if the cancelled show isn't able to get rescheduled.
6. Entries close at show start!! If you haven't signed in by then, your entry will be pulled. If you are definitely coming, you need to message me and let me know as I am getting the payouts ready when the show starts. It is NOT my responsilbity to check in on you and make sure you are coming. If I don't hear from you, your entry is pulled.
7. Please do not keep texting me, or calling me during the show unless, it is an emergency or very important.
8. If you are wanting to do a timed exhibition, let me know when you pre enter or BEFORE the show start. They are $10 each.
9. Remember Exhibitions at the beginning are on the honarary system. They are $4 each. They are 1 hr long for the summer series. So, if you need to get one done, you need to be on time. They close at 10:30 sharp. Pay me by Zelle, paypal, venmo, cashapp. Exhibition rules are on the flyer above, toward top of this page.
10. Entries paid at the show are CASH ONLY and please bring small bills. 10s, 5s, 1s are always a good thing!! If you leave the show before payout, I will venmo, paypal, cashapp, or Zelle winnings. I will not mail checks.

MINORS (17 and under)!!! PLEASE BE AWARE, if you come, a parent has to be with you to sign forms and accident waiver, or a court appointed Legal guardian or you dont ride. Plain and simple. And there is NO taking the forms out of the office saying your parents are at the truck. It's gotten to the point, I will be forced to check ID's of signatures, if I don't know the parent. I am sorry, it has come down to this but I have had had a couple instances now with youth doing this, or so called parent. After talking on the phone, who said would do it, didn't. Also, Forgery (signing your parents signature) is illegal. No, Your friends cannot sign for you.
